Another Needlepoint sighting at the movies

I went to see the movie "Running with Scissors" last week. As I am watching the scene where Annette Benning and her husband visit the Psychiatrist's office- they show a needlepointed tissuebox cover on the front of the doctor's desk! It's super 70s style -so bad that it's good. You should go to see this movie just for the sets (but it is totally hilarious as well).

Needlepoint in Mainstream urban pop-culture.

According to the Defamer blog (www.defamer.com) the ceterpiece of the upcoming Ben Stiller movie is a needlepoint pillow!
While I am going to assume that the design was made to be kitchy floral to be funny, I still think it is great that needlepoint is getting some attention.
